About

Don’t let grief steal your future!

It is hard for someone to accept they need help.

The support from your friends and family is not enough, and you realize you must make a change. Untreated grief can have long-term effects on your health, relationships with others, and achieving your dreams in life.

Living in your past makes you blind to the good in your present and causes you to miss out on your future – one filled with love, joy, and peace.

Those struggling with grief often have many invalid beliefs. A person’s thoughts could be surrounded by how the loved one died or felt hurt by the family’s actions following the death.

A person’s beliefs about what happens after death can help or hinder the grieving process. After the loss, a person needs to explore these beliefs and determine the truth.

Having the proper foundation helps with grief.

Working through your grief with a Christian framework provides the compassion and understanding that enables you to find strength and healing that shines through the darkness of your loss.

It is easy for the darkness to overwhelm you, but you will not give in to the darkness when you seize the opportunity to heal and take control of your future.

When you meet with me for services, you will be greeted with a warm smile and have my complete attention. After the first couple of sessions, it will be like meeting up with an old friend – a friend who wants to listen to the details, struggles, joys, and successes of your week.

Trust and understanding will be the foundation of our relationship. Our time together is about you and your story. You will be able to express yourself without hesitation or reservation. The fear, pain, and anger will be heard, processed, and validated.

I will be honest and loving while challenging your thoughts and behaviors that are impacting your progress.

Seeking Truth sets you free.

Together, we will find the Truth and help you build your life upon a firm foundation.

Prayer is an optional part of each session. If you desire guidance, the use of Biblical scriptures can help you seek and find the Truth.

Since the fall of Man, there has been pain and suffering. Thankfully, God gave us a guide to help us understand, find healing, and the ability to live with confidence that He is with us through it all.

Telehealth has a few requirements.

Because I offer my services online, we need to go over a few ts.

You must find a safe and private place with good Internet or phone connections for our Telehealth sessions.

If you are in a public area where you cannot fully express yourself or focus on me during the session, our time will not be productive. I will do my best to be in an appropriate location, and I ask the same of you.

About Me

Dealing with grief comes naturally to me.

I have personally experienced the loss of a sibling. Suddenly, I was my mother’s only child with the burden of caring for a parent with a broken heart, leaving me to grieve alone.

The first boy I loved committed suicide at the age of 15. I knew he had a history of suicidal thoughts, but I didn’t realize that I was supposed to tell someone. I have also been the person to hold the hands of two grandparents as they took their last breath. Why did they pick me to be the one with them?

I worked with soldiers for three years in the Department of Behavior Health on an Army Installation. The bureaucracy made me thankful God had a new path for me. But what the soldier commits to, endures, and fights for inspired me and made me very PROUD to be an American.

Some other populations I have worked with are children/adolescents in the school setting and those who struggle with addictions.

Others have described me as kind, caring, honest, and straightforward with my words, thoughts, and feelings. I would add – and a therapist still working on my poker face.

Besides being a therapist…

I am married with three children. If several in the family didn’t suffer from allergies, I would have at least two cats in my house. Although, dogs certainly bring me joy as well!
