Let’s talk about convenience!
Consider being able to receive services from the comfort of your couch, your car during your lunch break, or even when you are on an in-state vacation.
Let’s be honest. We all stop and debate how important it is to go to the doctor, get a massage, or start therapy simply by the time it takes out of our hectic lives. You stop and consider, “Can I ask for the time off?”
You only have an hour for lunch, but an in-person session is at least 90 minutes when considering driving time.
Telehealth eliminates all these stresses.
Convenience impacts progress.
It is very easy to find excuses to miss a therapy appointment at the end of a long day, and you don’t want to drive across town.
Or you had to pick up your child from school unexpectedly.
If you can stay at your office or still be a mom and meet your mental health needs, you are more likely to follow through with the commitment you made to yourself to heal.
Telehealth solves these barriers.
Convenience can reduce anxiety.
When you discover what you need is easy to access, you are more consistent.
Consistency creates habits and a routine. Routines are calming, anxiety-reducing.
Telehealth is easy to schedule into your routine.
When is Telehealth not convenient?
Some things can cause you to have a negative experience with Telehealth.
If you try to meet with me in a loud public place or cannot freely speak, Telehealth will not work for you.
If you are somewhere with poor Internet or cellphone service, it is hard to have a meaningful session.
You may be home, but not alone, or have your favorite TV show on in the background.
Telehealth is a convenient alternative to in-person therapy.
In most cases, Telehealth is as effective as meeting in person. We still meet face to face, discuss the issues important to you, and work on solutions.
I offer a secure connection, allowing privacy. All you need is a reliable Internet connection; video connection through your cellphone, tablet, laptop, or computer; and a quiet place where privacy is assured.
Don’t let life’s responsibilities keep you from committing to your health and happiness. Telehealth offers a viable alternative.
